Race Day Essentials

08.08.2013

We at State Water Heaters are still flying high off Ryan Newman’s big win at the Brickyard and a strong fourth place run at Pocono. We couldn’t be more excited to watch him race this weekend at the Cheez-It 355 at the Glen (Watkins Glen, N.Y.). Let’s go #39!

It’s one thing to watch the race from the comfort of your living room, but it’s a whole other world when you’re at the track. Here are a few items we suggest you bring (and a few to leave at home) to make the most of your race day!

-Tickets and pit passes (Seems obvious but you’d be surprised)
-Sunscreen (A definite must-have, pack at least SPF 30)
-Binoculars
-Camera with a zoom lens
-State Racing hat (For extra sun protection…and to rep the Team!)
-Weather appropriate clothing (Spring/Fall can be chilly, Summer is sweltering)
-Comfy shoes (You’ll be standing & walking a lot)
-Rain ponchos (Because umbrellas aren’t allowed)
-Earplugs (especially for kids)
-Stadium seats or cushions
-Radio/scanner (To keep up with Ryan Newman’s race stats)
-Extra batteries (For your radio, when it inconveniently dies)
-First aid kit with Ibuprofen (Just trust us)
-Lots of liquids (And we mean water…mostly)
-Snacks (Especially if you don’t want to drop a ton of money on concessions)
-Cooler with ice (No larger than 14x14x14)

And a few things NOT to bring:

-Glass (It’s a safety hazard and a pain to clean up)
-An attitude (Check it at the gate)

See you at the Glen! If you need to reach State Water Heaters in the meantime, just contact a local Installing Contractor in your area. Find one here.
